FOOD
Breakfast and dinner will be prepared using local ingredients and recipes so that you can experience the wisdom of Snow Country, which developed to survive the long, snowy winters.

In Snow Country, which has four clearly defined seasons, local produce varies from season to season. In spring, various wild vegetables grow as the snow melts in the satoyama; in summer, vegetables flourish in mineral-rich soil; in autumn, root vegetables and mushrooms abound; and in winter, preserved foods processed before autumn, vegetables stored in snow chambers, and wild game caught by local hunters provide unique flavors. Fermented seasonings and pickles developed to survive the winter add depth to the flavour.

Breakfast
Local mothers will serve dishes using local ingredients and traditional seasonings. Both Japanese (rice) and Western (rice bread) options will be available.

Dinner
We can arrange for self-catering menus (shabu-shabu or chicken sukiyaki), delivery, on-site chef services, transportation arrangements for meals at nearby restaurants, and more.
